Training Assistance Available Through Workforce Florida, Inc.

The landmark Workforce Innovation Act of 2000 created and charged Workforce Florida, Inc. with meeting the workforce needs and challenges of Florida businesses.  Workforce Florida accomplishes this through business-driven initiatives and programs to ensure Florida’s workforce has the skills that will meet current and future business needs.  Two of the programs available are described below.

 

The Quick Response Training Program (QRT) provides grant funding for customized training for new or expanding businesses.  The program is structured to be flexible and to “respond quickly” to meet the business’ training objectives.  Established is 1993, the QRT Program has provided customized training for over 117,724 new jobs created for over 450 businesses.  Please click here for more information regarding the QRT Program.

 

The Incumbent Worker Training Program provides grant funding for customized training for existing for profit businesses.  Through this customer-driven program, Florida is able to effectively retain and keep businesses competitive through upgrade skills training for existing full-time employees.  Established in 1999, the Incumbent Worker Training Program has provided customized training for over 84,400 employees for more than 770 businesses.  The program has been structured to be flexible to meet the business’s training objectives.  Fore further details on this program, please click here.
