It is the policy of this state that all state, county, and municipal records are open for personal inspection and copying by any person.  Providing access to public records is a duty of each agency  in accordance with Chapter 119 Florida Statutes.

In an effort to streamline public records requests, Madison County offers citizens the ability to submit public records requests online. Please complete and submit the form below. Please note that if you submit your request electronically, the public records custodian will contact you to verify the request prior to request being fulfilled. If you have any questions, please call 850-973-3179.

Please note this is the website for the Board of County Commissioners, other records requests should be directed to the agencies below. This will help in having your request fulfilled in a reasonable time frame.

Public Records Requests related to Law Enforcement should go through the Public Records Custodian for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Tammy Olive. She can be reached at [email protected] or by calling the Sheriff’s Office at (850) 253-3345.

Public Records Requests related to Court Cases should be directed to the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Billy Washington, www.MadisonClerk.com. You can also reach his office by phone at 850-973-1500.
