Meeting Notice Update
Proposed NextEra Transmission Line

The Madison County Board of County Commissioners would like to remind the public that a workshop is scheduled next Tuesday evening, May 14th, in the Courthouse at 6:00 pm, to discuss the proposed NextEra transmission line.

We have just been informed by Timothy Bryant with NextEra, which is the parent company of Florida Power and Light and Gulf Power, that NextEra will NO LONGER be attending since they do not have the presentations and materials prepared. Mr. Bryant went on to say that they are working to complete data gathering and content development in order to conduct a Madison County Open House in June.

The Madison County Board of County Commissioners will hold their workshop as scheduled next Tuesday, with or without NextEra, because the commissioners would like to get public comment on this project as soon as possible.
